WAC Accountant, and Micro Credit Loan Officer Jobs vacancy  in Kenya 2012

Community Welfare Agency (WAC) is a Microfinance Institution operating in Nairobi which is seeking application from a qualified Accountant.
He/She will be reporting to the Project   manager and the job’s responsibilities will be:
  1. Implementing sound accounting system
  2. Prepare all financial statements and books of accounts
  3. Process staff payroll, prepare and make payments of all statutory deductions
  4. Preparation of budgets, monitor and ensure control of the same
  5. Manage all aspects of company financial records, assets and liability management
  6. Manage all aspects of the company accounting structures and processes
  7. Responsible for all bank accounts management including bank reconciliations
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) or CPA III finalist
  2. Experience of over 3 years in microfinance institution
  3. Preferably have experience in CMIS operations
  4. Proficient in Microsoft office applications
  5. Age between 25-35 years old
  6. Experience in FOSA management is an added advantage.
Micro Credit – Loan Officer
This is a field related job which involves lending under group methodology and the Micro- credit loan officer will be responsible for achieving the following objectives and responsibilities:
  • Identification of potential clients, recruitment, screening and training potential clients on the organization’s loan policies and procedures and make recommendations on extending credit
  • Conduct due diligence to determine feasibility of extending credit to potential clients
  • Monitor closely the clients business performance and repayment
  • Assist in the development of new products and processes
  • Generation of timely and accurate reports periodically
Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum qualification of Diploma in Business Administration and management, Cooperative Management or Micro-finance
  • Proficiency in MS Office Packages
  • Not less than 2 years working experience in a busy Micro credit organization. Group lending will be an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal communication and marketing skills. He/she should be result driven.
  • High initiative and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Not more than 30 years of age

Communication and advocacy Associate
  • This position is responsible for supporting advocacy and communications activities including engagement with the media;
  • provision of technical support to increase the availability and use of evidence through materials, presentations and other communication channels, and building capacity for advocacy with women’s groups, youth groups, and other champions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science and communication or equivalent, 5 years minimum experience in planning and implementing communication and media strategies.

Youth Coordinator
  • This position will focus on ensuring that young women and men receive the information and care they need to prevent and manage unplanned pregnancy.
  • The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for developing the capacity and skills of young women and men to advocate for sexual and health and rights of young people.
  • He/she will plan programs to better meet the needs of young people through: youth workshops, university outreaches, and national youth leadership.
  • The position works closely with other NGOs and partners in meeting work objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or equivalent, 3 years minimum experience in planning and implementing youth program strategies.

Head Chef Job Vacancy in a Luxury Safari Camp kenya 2012

We are looking for Head Chef in a luxury Safari Camp with 12 tents – international cuisine is served, incl. packed meals and “live cooking” events.

We Expect:

  • preparation of various types of both local and international dishes (buffet style and pre-plated)
  • correct food portioning and costing
  • co-ordination of kitchen includes pastry chef and staff cook as well as assistant in training team
  • compilation of menu
  • preparing the weekly order for dry goods, fresh supplies
  • correct storage of fresh and dry goods
  • proper stock keep of all goods
  • preparation of packed breakfasts and lunches
  • being able to do bush dinners
Educational Qualifications
  • being able to read and write in English
  • being able to cook according to English recipes
  • must have previous experience in similar job environment
Special Skills Required
  • able to communicate well with the guests and kitchen team members
