Life & Peace Institute Professional Video Documentary Job in Kenya 2012

Professional Video Documentary
The Life & Peace Institute and Somali Peace Line are currently implementing the project “Track II Middle-Out Civil Society Initiatives in Order to Enhance Inter-Clan Cohesion, Political Pluralism and Democratic Participation” in South-Central Somalia.
This project is hinged on the concept that there are structural factors within the organization of Somali society that can promote peace.
These are embodied in the clan structure of Somali society and the potentials for peace building that are embedded in the capacities of local clan elders.
LPI is seeking the services of a professional video documentary company, who can capture through a documentary the project context, activities and experiences of engaging with traditional clan elders.
This will involve accompanying staff implementing the project in South-Central Somalia and filming ongoing activities as well as interviewing the beneficiaries.
The final product should be a 30 minute (maximum) documentary of all the activities of the project at the field level and should target both Somali and English speaking audience.
A detailed Terms of Reference will be shared with the shortlisted candidate.

Main Purpose of Job: Manage all HR aspects in the Factory in compliance with the Labour Laws and Corporate HR guidelines
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure full statutory compliance in co-ordination with Country HRBP and implement corrective measures
  • Liaise with SHE Manager to promote SHE consciousness and ensure compliance to Food Handlers Examination.
  • Lead the NCE HR Pillar in liaison with Country HRBP
  • Manage day-to-day industrial relations issues and negotiate with the union. Ensure implementation of CBA
  • Contact point for all general Audits, NQMS and ISO

  • Manage all welfare items, procurement and distribution of welfare benefits optimally within budget and cost effectively.

  • Manage recruitment and transfer matters of staff in liaison with the Country HRBP and Factory Manager.
  • Supervise the time attendance register and prepare Management reports
  • Manage Performance and training activities for Factory staff
  • Attend Factory Management meetings and follow up on issues with a briefing to the Country HRBP
  • Prepare the Factory Payroll using SAP and update HR in SAP
Required Qualifications
  • University degree
  • 3 -5 years relevant experience especially in Industrial Relations in a Multinational organization/Flower farm/large manufacturing organizations.
  • Previous engagement with Unions, Ministry of Labour and Federation of Kenya Employers in CBA Negotiation process.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Higher National Diploma will be an added advantage
