Job Purpose:  Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, oversee the marketing of the Bank’s products and services and ensure maximum profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing & implementing sales plan/activities to acquire, expand and retention of profitable relationships
  • Identifying and evaluating potential customers’ financial and service needs and recommend product/service offerings in liaison with Product Development Manager.
  • Identifying and developing new profitable business relationship.
  • Tracking and analyzing sales performance for Nairobi branch managers and implementing correcting or reinforcing action.
  • Monitoring and maximizing retention and revenue through appropriate use of MIS systems and tools
  • Planning and implementing campaigns for sales promotions
  • Drawing and implementing customer calling diaries for Nairobi branch managers.
  • Managing the Nairobi Branches sales teams to achieve set sales targets
  • Leading, directing, motivating, training, coaching and developing the Nairobi Branches sales teams
  • Managing compliance to sales and service, credit and lending policies for the Nairobi Branches.
  • Ensure KYC and AML compliance.
  • Distributing and monitoring of market information to maximize our market share
  • Performance management for the Nairobi Branches sales and service team; leave schedules and other administrative activities.
  • Work with support departments especially credit, treasury, operations and IT to ensure effective product and service delivery to customers.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • A University Degree in Finance or Business Management
  • Must have worked in the bank for at least 5 years particularly in relationship management.
  • Professional qualifications in Accounting, Marketing and/or Banking such as CKA(K), CIM, ACIB, or AKIB will be an added advantage.
  • A Proven record in the delivery of business targets
Personal Profile
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Should have a business development mindset.
  • Should be result oriented, with ability to work under pressure and deliver on time.
  • Willing to travel widely within Kenya.

Resilience and Economic Growth in the Arid Lands – Improving Resilience Project (Two positions)

Background

CRS/Kenya is seeking Kenyan National candidates for a USAID program designed to reduce hunger and poverty, increase social stability and build strong foundations for economic growth by strengthening social, economic, and environmental resilience in pastoral and transitioning communities in Kenya’s arid land.
Primary components of this program include:
  • Strengthened and Diversified Livelihood Opportunities,
  • Inclusive Livestock Value Chain,
  • Improved Management and Productivity of Natural Resources,
  • Improved Conflict Management, Improved Drought Management and Improved Consumption of Nutritious Foods Both successful candidates will be based in a project office to be located within the program areas.

Chief of Party (COP)

Chief of Party (COP) will provide overall direction and leadership
The CoP will be responsible for the achievement of strategic objectives, intermediate results, and performance expectations through adherence to high standards of programmatic and management quality.
The COP duties include providing leadership and oversight to the consortium and ensuring that sub-grantees adhere to their assigned scopes of work and sub-award terms, act as primary project contact to donor, strengthen linkages with existing and potential partner agencies and manage relationships with the Government of Kenya as well as oversee program communication strategies.
S/he will also ensure program quality, management of program budget and reporting, representation and advocacy and management of program staff
 
Specific Qualifications:
  • Minimum MS with a focus on Agribusiness and value chains or other related fields mentioned above. PhD desired.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively increasing management responsibility in developing countries.
  • Experience working in the arid lands of Kenya, Kenyan preferred.
  • Prior management of significant USAID funding required, ideally in CoP position.
  • Familiarity with and commitment to addressing gender equality in programming.
  • Proven experience in managing complex consortium or partnership relationships in a participatory way required.
  • Understanding of and experience with faith-based organizations, local church structures, and accompaniment and capacity-building principles in local partnerships desired.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • A professional with high personal integrity, commitment & good stewardship
  • Ability to cultivate constructive relationships and cope with people from diverse backgrounds
Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP)

Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) will primarily be responsible for the smooth running of Finance and Administration aspects of the project and serve as Acting Chief of Party in the Chief of Party’s (CoP) absence.
The DCoP shall assure compliance and management quality with all USAID regulations and reporting requirements pertinent to the Cooperative Agreement governing USAID-funded Resilience and Economic Growth in the Arid Lands Improving Resilience (REGAL-IR) program in Kenya.
Duties include providing support to project staff on budget reviews, analysis and level of project expenditures; ensure compliance with donor regulations; oversee contract and grant agreements, jointly
with the CoP represent REGAL-IR program in donor meetings and other fora, and ensure that program responds to the needs of the donor.
 
Specific Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with demonstrated financial management or related field
  • Five years of overseas development experience
  • Senior management experience
  • Kenyan arid lands experience desired
  • Understanding of applicable USG regulations
  • Strong resource management, representation and networking skills
  • Strong writing and researching skills
  • Experience training or providing technical assistance preferred

Program Director – Candidates must have significant experience in managing large agribusiness and food security projects, including the development of public-private alliances. Candidates must have superior technical, organizational and communication skills.

Successful track record as a program director and in depth knowledge and recent practical experience in the Kenyan agriculture sector is essential. Advanced degree preferred and commercial experience required.

Technical Experts – Candidates are required to have at least 10 years’ experience in staple crops (especially maize), horticulture, dairy, marketing or nutrition, with specific knowledge of the Kenyan agricultural sector.

Experience with technology transfer to small farmers and producer groups is essential. Advanced degree in agronomy, veterinary science, agriculture marketing or related field and experience with donor-funded programs desired.

Organization and Management Specialists – Since the project will be implemented through an array of local organizations and private companies, agribusiness specialists are required in organizational capacity building and management of public-private sector alliances.

Advanced degree in business related area, plus private sector and development project experience is essential.

Grants and Finance Manager – Responsible for managing grant funds and overseeing the development, evaluation and viability of the proposals submitted.

The manager will provide support to grantees in compliance, accountability and target delivery. Degree in finance, accounting, business or related field required. Five years of progressively responsible work experience in managing small grants, grants under contracts or sub-contracts with international agricultural organizations or NGOs preferred.

Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist – Responsibilities include monitoring and tracking results in Fintrac’s M&E data management system; data collection and validation; overall coordination of M&E activities.

Degrees in statistics, agriculture economics or related fields, strong analytical, communications and computer skills required.
