Techno Brain Ltd GIS Practice Lead Job in Kenya 2012

Techno Brain Ltd is looking for a GIS Practice Leader that has the ability to grow our business, successfully manage complex projects, and to develop/mentor our exceptional staff.
The successful candidate will work as a high level technical GIS consultant and project manager in support of a wide range of environmental, planning and engineering disciplines.
Provide primary project assignment, workload leveling, staff hiring and quality assurance that may span multiple offices within the region.
Will represent the firm at GIS events, meetings, conferences and will actively participate in the profession through the publishing of papers and participation on boards and committees.

Job location: Kenya

Basic Qualifications:

Education: BA/BS in Geography, GIS, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering or related field

Years of Experience: 10+

Primary Skills:

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities in the management and development of people
  • Deep knowledge of GIS technology (Esri ArcGIS) and science; with strong knowledge of other complimentary subject areas and understands the objectives of the related regulatory and/or industry requirements
  • Communicate thoughts, ideas, and information of a technical nature in a logical, organized, coherent and persuasive manner
  • Commensurate experience working with Esri software, specifically the ArcGIS suite including ArcGIS Server
  • Ability to take initiative and clearly lead, define, estimate and write detailed project scope documents and respond to request for proposals (RFPs)
  • Displays responsible positive behaviors for consistency, predictability and reliability at work to complete assignments and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Experience in developing innovative geospatial approaches and solutions to complex subject areas
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of industry trends, new technologies and emerging markets
  • Deep domain experience working in the utility, oil & gas pipeline, environmental, planning, water resources or transportation industries.

About this position

Bridge International has developed an extremely detailed and rigorous training program to prepare new teachers from local slum neighborhoods to be extremely effective in the classroom.

The ECD Training Consultant will help us to determine the classroom management techniques needed for the training of new ECD teachers with a minimum of secondary school certificates, some with and some without previous teaching experience.

The ECD Training Consultant is responsible for analyzing the gaps in our classroom management training sessions provided to all of our teacher trainees and for developing multiple ECD classroom management training sessions that are aligned to the Bridge International curriculum.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze video clips of current ECD classrooms to determine current gaps in classroom management.
  • Review current classroom management sessions used in training to identify additional sessions needed specifically for ECD teachers.
  • Develop a detailed outline of ECD management sessions to put into training, including best practices for implementation.
  • Coordinate with ECD curriculum team to ensure alignment of management and teaching approaches.
  • Must be able to work within Bridge International’s highly structured system.
  • Must work well within a fast-paced team to meet high-pressure daily and weekly deadlines.
About You
  • Must have at least 5 years experience teaching in, training or consulting for ECD classrooms (Baby Class, Nursery or Pre-Unit).
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to balance multiple tasks at once.
  • Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Outgoing, energetic and friendly personality who is able to manage stress well.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must be comfortable receiving detailed feedback in order to improve performance.
  • Must be highly self-directed and highly motivated to excel.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
