We would like to fill the below mentioned positions:

Manager

  • University Degree (BSc or BA) from a recognised University or a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) certificate at final level.
  • She/he shall demonstrate competence and a minimum of eight (8) years proven experience in Business Administration, and wide experience with Public or Pnvatte Sector and administration/management of a technical facility/project in a similar capacity.
Assistant Manager
  • University Degree (BSc or BA) from a recognised University or a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) certificate at final level. He shall have six (6) years proven experience in Business Administration, have good communication skills and be of high integrity.
  • In addition, he shall have adequate experience and exposure to Public or Private sector administration and knowledge of and experience in administration of a technical facility/project in a similar position.
  • He shall have training in ICT or project performance monitoring and evaluation and have adequate experience in the use of desktop computer applications.
  • OR a trained professional in Building or Civil Engineering holding a Degree OR Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Building Economics from a recognised Institution.
  • The applicant should have previous working experience of five (5) years and adequate knowledge of building codes and civil works specifications, contact law and contract administration besides working knowledge of common desktop computer applications and popular CAD Software.
  • The applicant should also have a wide experience in the preparation of schedules for repair works and costing them.
IT Administrator
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Computer Science. In addition, should possess at least a Certified Network Associate qualification (or equivalent) with three (3) years hand-on experience in Network Administration or Systems Integration in a busy database management environment.
  • He should have proven knowledge on enterprise databases and compute applications and have excellent communication skills.
  • He should be fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
Clerks
  • These Clerks must possess Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade C and a minimum grade of C- in Mathematics, English and Kiswahili.
  • They should have a diploma in ICT or be in possession of the International Computer Driver’s Licence (ICDL) Certificate.
  • He should have a basic understanding of Kenyan legal and court systems, a minimum of two (2) years previous hands-on experience (such as paralegal staff) in a busy law establishment in Kenya.
  • He should be a person of high integrity, fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
Data Entry Clerks
  • Applicants must posses Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade C and a minimum grade of C- in Mathematics, English and Kiswahili.
  • Each staff should have a diploma in ICT or be in possession ofthe International Computer Driver’s Licence (ICDL) certification and must have three years (3) hands-on experience as computer terminal operator in a busy data processing environment and demonstrate fluency in both English and Kiswahili.
  • OR possess Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade C and a minimum grade of C- in Mathematics, English and Kiswahili.
  • They should have a diploma in ICT or be in possession of the International Computer Driver’s Licence (ICDL) Certificate.
  • He should have a basic understanding of Kenyan legal and court systems, a minimum of two (2) years previous hands-on experience (such as paralegal staff) in a busy law establishment in Kenya.
  • He should be a person of high integrity, fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Accurate typing speed of at least 60 words per minute.
Security Clerk
  • Applicants for this position must posses Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade C- and a minimum grade C- in Mathematics, English and Kiswahili.
  • The applicant should have undergone a recognised training in security establishment and has two (2) years previous experience in Law enforcement and provision of security services.
  • The applicant shall be a person of high integrity and fluent in English and Kiswahili and skills in inter-personal relations.
Others Qualifications:

All applicants for above positions must be Kenyan citizens aged below 40 years, Physically fit, able to work long hours with minimum supervision, high integrity, honest, firm and team player. Applicants with a Certificate of good conduct will the preffered.

Terms of :

This position will provide the vision and intellectual capital needed to achieve sustainable conservation outcomes through commercial activity.

OVERVIEW

For more than 50 years, the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) has been an important player in African conservation and sustainable development. As a key strategy for creating sustainable conservation outcomes, AWF regularly engages in social enterprise ventures across all of its African Heartlands. These ventures create partnerships between communities and the private sector, and model how triple bottom line projects should work – profitable business ventures, economic development for communities, and legally binding conservation covenants. Collectively, AWF’s enterprise ventures represent millions of dollars of investment and span a range of sectors including conservation tourism, livestock management, agricultural production and marketing, and fisheries management.

DUTIES AND CONTEXT

The Program Director will report directly to AWF’s President, and serve as a member of AWF’s senior program leadership team. S/he will form a strategic vision for furthering AWF’s conservation mission through opportunities created by commercial activity. In addition to expanding AWF’s portfolio of successful enterprises in the tourism sector, the Program Director will work to grow AWF’s impact in other critical sectors such as agriculture and livestock. S/he will also play an important role in expanding AWF’s geographic presence. On an annual basis, the Program Director will help to identify conservation goals around which AWF’s efforts will be focused. S/he will ensure that enterprises are designed to be both commercially viable and deliver on AWF’s desired conservation outcomes. The Program Director will oversee AWF’s conservation enterprise team to ensure they are following best practices and delivering excellent enterprise projects within AWF’s conservation landscapes.

This will be a highly visible position and so the Program Director must be seen as a subject-matter expert in the field of social enterprise as applied in the context of African conservation. S/he will have the ability and necessary private sector contacts to identify and develop enterprise opportunities across a variety of geographies and sectors. The Program Director must be a visionary who is able to position AWF as the go-to organization for effective conservation-based social enterprises in Africa.

CARE and its partners work with vulnerable communities to address the underlying causes of poverty and promote peace and development, through its strategic goal to reduce poverty by empowering women, enhancing access to resources and services, and improving governance.

The Staff and Programme Security Coordinator role is to advise country offices (CO) on how to reduce risks faced by CARE personnel, assets and programs.

This will be achieved by, but not limited to the provision of professional security approaches, the development of capacity in respect of security awareness, preparedness and management, which will strive to support programme implementation.

The Security Advisor will develop, implement and where necessary update and maintain security advisories and operating procedures which are in line with the CARE International security protocols.

In coordination with the regional security advisors and the CARE Security Unit

  • s/he will be responsible to train and support staff to ensure that any risks are minimized.
  • S/he will demonstrate a high level of socio-cultural, political and economic understanding of the many contexts where CARE works.
  • S/he will also develop a solid working knowledge of CARE’s programmes in order to provide guidance and direction for safety and security which supports CARE’s vision and mission.
  • S/he will be required to travel to CARE’s operational areas, including volatile and dangerous locations to assist COs in addressing deteriorating security, develop all security plans, and provide technical assistance.
  • S/he will report directly to the Country Director, but shall submit situational reports to the regional security advisor and CSU as deemed appropriate by CSU.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to humanitarian work or security risk management.
  • 5 years experience in assisting international organizations in developing security strategies for their operations. 3 years experience working/living in developing countries.
  • Strong assessment, evaluation and strategic planning skills, High level experience in developing security related technical tools, guidelines and systems, Excellent oral and written communication skills and Demonstrated ability to manage under stressful conditions.

The position is based in Nairobi with frequent travel to CARE’s operational areas.
