Kenyatta University wishes to recruit qualified and dedicated applicants for the following vacant positions:
Directorate of Health Services
1. Director – University Health Services
Overall Job Purpose
To offer expertise advice to the University management and provide strategic leadership and direction at the Directorate of Health Services
The applicant must be a holder of postgraduate degree in Medical related field from a recognized university.
Those with Masters in Business Administration in addition to a medical degree will have an added advantage.
In addition the applicant must also have the following:
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the field of clinical health services.
  • Proven management experience involving management of staff and the delivery of health programs, strategic planning and execution.
2. Head – Nursing Services
Overall Job Purpose
To identify related major issues/opportunities; develop strategic recommendation to management; and to plan and offer nursing services to members of the University community in accordance with agreed work plans in line with Kenyatta University’s health service provision charter.
The applicant must be a holder of B.Sc. Nursing degree from a recognized university.
Those with Masters degree in the relevant area will have an added advantage.
In addition the applicant must have at least five (5) years working experience, three (3) of which at a senior level equivalent to Hospital Matron in a large public or private medical institution.
3. Head – Clinical Services
Overall Job Purpose
To identify major clinical issues/ opportunities; develop strategic recommendations to management; and to plan and offer clinical services to members of the University Community in accordance with agreed work plans in line with Kenyatta University’s health service provision charter.
The applicant must be a holder a degree in a medical related field from a recognized university.
Those with Masters degree in the relevant area will have an added advantage.
In addition the applicant must have at least five (5) years related work experience in a large public or private medical institution.
 
4. Head – Administration Services
Overall Job Purpose
To identify major health administration issues/ opportunities; develop strategic recommendations to management; and to plan and to manage staff according to University policy and procedures
The applicant must be a holder of a relevant degree in medical related field and post graduate training in administration from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must have at least five (5) years related work experience in a large medical institution.
Those with experience as Hospital Administrator in a university setting wIll have an added advantage.
 
5. Head – Pharmacy Services
Overall Job Purpose
To identify pharmacy related issues/ opportunities; develop strategic recommendations to management; and to plan and offer pharmacy services to members of the University Community in accordance with agreed work plans in line with Kenyatta University’s health service provision charter
The applicant must be a holder of B. Pharm. degree from a recognized university.
Those with Masters degree in the relevant area will have an added advantage.
In addition the applicant must have at least five (5) years working experience as Head of a Hospital Pharmacy.
The following job requirements apply to all the five (5) positions:
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, work under pressure and maintain organized work habits.
  • Mature, self driven, reliable, result oriented with a positive outlook, and clear focus on high quality service delivery.
Terms of Service:
The terms of service for the above include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.
Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
