We are seeking to recruit candidates for the following positions within the Nairobi Regional Office to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Regional Controller – Africa
The Regional Controller – Africa is responsible for the strategic, operational oversight and management of the International Accounting function.
He / She will be the senior level financial Business Partner to the Chiefs of Party (COPs) and other RTI leaders regarding all financial operations in the region.
In this capacity, the Regional Controller – Africa will oversee all aspects of financial accounting in support of all RTI business and project activities in the Africa Region.
Oversight and management includes financial accounting compliance, internal controls, training and support; the establishment and monitoring of policies, procedures and systems; performance management of the field finance staff in the region; and day to day management of procurement and grants staff.
Applicants will possess a minimum of a Masters in Business Administration or related discipline with fourteen (14+) years of progressive experience in senior leadership roles; CPA license or equivalent required; Successful track record of implementing and managing financial programs in Africa with diverse teams through effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
He / She will have deep experience with international field based finance and accounting operations and a demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulations, familiarity with USAID contracting requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to think strategically, make critical decisions and effectively handle change in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment.
Ability and willingness to travel to developing countries, expected to be up to 25%.
Candidates with the ability to read and speak French are preferred.

The Procurement Associate is responsible for identifying and developing Africa Region qualified suppliers for a broad range of commodities and services in support of project activities.
He / She will ensure that all strategic procurements leading to service level agreements and framework agreements comply with RTI/USAID/FAR and other donor rules and regulations and, where applicable, are aligned with global agreements.
In addition, will support regional office operations by qualifying suppliers and setting up purchasing / service agreements with local suppliers for a broad spectrum of commodities and services.
He / She will play a key role in organizing supplier forums as required.
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business, Commerce or a related discipline with three (3) years relevant experience.
Applicants should have worked extensively in in Purchasing & Supply, tendering and contracts management preferably with an international organization.
Working knowledge of international procurement and logistics, including customs procedures and freight regulations and INCOTERMS. Knowledge of USAID procurement rules and regulations is required.
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics for the projects and the regional office in Kenya.
He / She will be involved in the; planning, directing, coordination of logistics, warehousing, distribution, forecasting and reporting of relevant operations.
He / She will also manage logistics personnel and logistics systems and direct daily operations.
The Coordinator will manage inventory of stock and ensure product adjustments are properly applied.
He / She will receive, sort, log, and distributes all incoming consignments, arranges distribution, warehousing and transportation as required.
She/he will ensure accurate inventories of RTI assets and resources including vehicle fleet management and also undertake quality checks of products being received and escalate any non-compliance to quality and specifications for resolution.
Applicants will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field with additional professional training in procurement and logistics management.
A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role preferably with a busy international organization.
Applicants with experience managing USAID-funded activities and thorough knowledge of logistics, procurement & inventory regulations and requirements would have a distinct advantage.
