Previously known as Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College, The Embu University College (EUC) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi through Legal Notice No. 65 of 17 June, 2011.

The objective of the University College is to play a leading role in the development and expansion of opportunities for higher education and research in agriculture, agribusiness, forestry, water and land management, biological & physical sciences.

The College seeks to develop into a centre of excellence for learning and research in agriculture and farming systems within and outside Kenya.

The University College now wishes to fill the following positions with qualified and experienced staff ready to spearhead the new College towards the attainment of the above objectives.

Administrative Assistant

Applicants should be holders of a Bachelors degree from a recognized University in relevant field, and should have a working experience of 2 years in university administrative duties.
Postgraduate certifications/trainings and competence in IT, plus experience in university planning, administration, quality management and assurance will be an added advantage.
Secretary – Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelors degree in Secretarial Studies/Office Management or equivalent from a recognized university. In addition applicants must have three (3) years experience in secretarial duties at CD or equivalent. Competence in ICT is a must.
OR
Applicants with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.), Office Management III, Business English III, Secretarial Studies II, Commerce II, Shorthand III (100 w.p.m.), Office practice II may be considered.
In addition applicants must have three (3) years experience in secretarial duties at Grade C/D or equivalent. Competence in IT is a must.
OR
Applicants must be holders of Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies/ Office Management or equivalent.
In addition applicants must have three (3) years experience in secretarial duties at Grade C/D or equivalent. Competence in IT is a must.
OR
Applicants must be holders of KCE/EACE/KSCE academic certificates mean Grade C or an equivalent (with a credit or C in English language) and a diploma in secretarial studies in a busy senior management office of a large organization with the following attainments: Typewriting 50WpM; Shorthand 120WpM; Business English III; Office Management III; Secretarial duties II; Office Practice II; Commerce Management II.
In addition they must have served in at Grade CD or equivalent for three (3) years. Competence in IT is a must.
Secretary – Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelors degree in Secretarial Studies/ Office Management or equivalent from a recognized university and must be competent in ICT.
OR
Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.), Office Management III, Business English III, Secretarial Studies II, Commerce II, Shorthand III (100 w.p.m.), Office practice II.
In addition applicants must have three (3) years experience in secretarial duties at Grade A/B or equivalent. Competence in IT is a must.
OR
Applicants must be holders of Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies/ Office Management or equivalent.
In addition applicants must have three (3) years experience in secretarial duties at Grade AB or equivalent. Competence in IT is a must.
OR

Applicants should have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies/ Office Management
OR
O-Level Certificate (C-) with at least (C-) in English, Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.), Office Management III, Business English II, Secretarial Studies II, Commerce II, Shorthand II (90 w.p.m.), Personnel management stage III.

Experience in secretarial duties plus Competence in IT is a must.

Human Resource Manager

Applicants must be holders of Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or related field, plus Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management/Social Sciences from a recognized university.

They must have basic computer literacy and be proficient in relevant application packages and must have at least seven (7) years working experience in HR management.

They also must have broad knowledge in labour laws, compensation, benefits administration, organizational planning and development, employee relations, training and development. Performance, achievements and discipline in previous work stations will also be considered.

They must possess good leadership and managerial skills, and ability to multi-task, counsel and mentor staff, as well as maintain a healthy working relationship with staff. He/she is expected to be a member of a relevant professional body.
